About LightStream

Building video infrastructure that developers actually enjoy using.

Our mission

Video infrastructure shouldn't be a bottleneck. We started LightStream because we spent years fighting unreliable CDNs, opaque pricing, and APIs designed for operations teams rather than developers. We wanted something better.

Today, LightStream handles video upload, transcoding, and delivery for teams ranging from solo indie developers to companies streaming to millions of viewers. Our goal is simple: make video a solved problem so you can focus on what makes your product special.

How we operate

LightStream is privately held and funded by a small group of angel investors who are also customers. We are profitable and grow organically — no pressure to chase growth metrics at the expense of reliability or developer experience.

We are fully remote, operating across Europe and North America. Our infrastructure runs on our own bare-metal servers co-located in nine datacentres, with anycast routing to 60+ edge PoPs operated by our CDN partners.
